How to get to Newport and where to stay
Newport is a popular Summer destination, and we know you’ll want to book your flights and rooms pretty quickly before the rush begins – we recommend no later than January. Below are our recommendations based on hours of research and our own personal travel experiences. Airports
Providence (PVD)
Providence T.F. Green Airport (PVD) is the closest major airport to Newport, located about 30 miles north of Newport, less than a 40 minute drive. Major airlines that fly to Providence include Southwest, Delta, JetBlue, United, and U.S. Airways.
Boston (BOS)
If you want more flexible flight options or a choice of nearly all major airlines, Boston Logan Airport (BOS) is 75 miles north of Newport, or about a 90 minute drive. We will be arriving in Boston and renting a car to take us to Newport – it’s a lovely drive!

Hyatt Regency
Newport – Goat Island
Situated on beautiful Goat Island, the Hyatt provides great views, the comfort of a full service hotel, and walking proximity to the wedding ceremony and reception on Friday evening, and a free shuttle to the wharfs.
Rates start at $259 (weeknights) to $349 (Fri/Sat nights).
Courtyard by Marriott
Middletown
Middletown is just 3 miles outside of Newport, but provides a variety of more affordable hotel options. We’re happy to offer the Courtyard an option with a wedding rate discount starting at $189/night. Call (401) 849-8000 & mention the BERTRAND/ LAUN wedding for the discounted rate or book online.
Holiday Inn Express
Middletown
Another convenient option in Middletown a quick drive outside of Newport is the Holiday Inn Express. According to the commercials, you will be more confident about your intelligence after staying here, so that’s a plus. Castle Hill Inn
Newport
The hotel where we got engaged and where we will be staying the week of the wedding, Castle Hill is a classic and beautiful getaway. Rent a beach bungalow or stay in the historic main house. We don’t have a room rate to offer for the wedding, but it’s a gorgeous option for anybody looking for a special experience.
Summer Rental Homes
By far the preferred, most cost effective, and recommended option for larger groups, extended stays, or anybody just looking for something a little different. You’ll find a variety of amazing houses, condos, and cottages available for rent in the immediate and surrounding area.
Other Accommodations
While Newport is certainly the closest to the wedding week events, there are several other areas a short drive outside of town that are absolutely beautiful, and affordable – Jamestown we’re talking to you!
